Release Notes:

Linux

  1. Improved Agent Performance and Stability

We have rebuilt the Linux agent from the ground up to deliver improved performance, stability, and reliability as Linux device management continues to scale. This release addresses key issues that could impact managed devices:

    1. Resolved an issue where devices could unexpectedly become inactive.

    2. Improved agent performance to reduce device performance degradation.

    3. Established a more robust foundation for future Linux agent enhancements.

macOS

  1. Enhanced Device Inventory

The latest macOS agent provides richer device inventory information, giving IT administrators greater visibility into managed devices. This includes:

    1. Hardware

      1. Processor and memory details

      2. Thermal sensor information, including battery and GPU heatsink temperatures

    2. Network

      1. Wi-Fi status and known Wi-Fi networks, including saved networks and the device’s current Wi-Fi state

      2. Status of sharing services, including Remote Login, File Sharing, and Screen Sharing

    3. Storage

      1. Information about available volumes

      2. Time Machine backup information, including backup status

    4. Software

      1. Installed kernel extensions

      2. Browser extensions

      3. Startup items

      4. Homebrew packages

      5. Python packages

  2. Redesigned Device Details View

The Device Details view has been redesigned to make device-specific information easier to navigate and understand. The view now includes an Applied Policies section, allowing IT administrators to see the profiles and policies applied to a specific device.

  3. Extended Device Insights

Extended Device Insights report is now available for macOS, enabling IT administrators to download detailed device information for a more comprehensive view of managed devices.

Veltar

  1. Enhanced Secure Web Gateway

We have redesigned the Secure Web Gateway (SWG) module and rewritten its underlying stack to improve performance, stability, and reliability as adoption of Veltar Secure Web Gateway grows.

Windows

  1. OS Update Enhancements

We have improved the Windows OS update experience with the following enhancements:

    1. Download and installation failure notifications: The dashboard now displays appropriate error messages when an update fails during download or installation.

    2. Download and installation progress: Administrators can now track download and installation progress as a percentage from the dashboard.

    3. Superseded OS updates: When an OS update is superseded by a newer update, it is now marked as Obsolete.

    4. Improved installation flow: When multiple updates are deployed, updates are installed as soon as they finish downloading instead of waiting for all updates in the batch to download.

    5. Reboot notifications: A reboot prompt is now displayed on the device once all updates in a batch have been evaluated for reboot requirements.

  2. Improved BitLocker Recovery Key Handling

We have improved BitLocker recovery key handling to address edge cases where external encryption tools used alongside the Scalefusion BitLocker utility could cause a mismatched recovery key to be synced to the dashboard.

  3. Remote Registry Management

IT administrators can now use a new remote command from the dashboard to add, update, or delete Windows registry keys on managed devices.

OneIdP User Management Enhancements

  1. Improved User Migration Experience

In the Directory → Actions user migration flow, password reset options are now hidden when the authentication source is not set to OneIdP. This provides a clearer experience by ensuring that password reset options are only shown when they are applicable.

  2. Flexible User Auto-Migration

User auto-migration is now independent of the setting that requires users to have email access. IT administrators can now automatically migrate users to the OneIdP Directory even when:

    1. Users do not have email access.

    2. Administrators prefer not to send the OneIdP welcome email.

General Enhancements

  1. User Group Filtering in macOS Updates

The Operations, Updates, and Devices views under macOS Updates now support filtering by User Group, in addition to the existing Device Group filter.
