Release Notes:
Veltar I/O Device Access Control for Windows
We have introduced I/O Device Access Control for Windows as part of Scalefusion’s Veltar platform. This new capability gives IT administrators robust tools to protect corporate data and enforce strict device usage policies across Windows endpoints bringing enhanced visibility and control over peripheral device usage on Windows. Key Features:
Default Access Policies by Device Category: IT Admins can now define default access levels for various I/O device types, enabling consistent enforcement across device classes.
Granular Device-Level Control: Using Access Rules, Admins can allow or block specific devices based on their Device Instance ID, enabling fine-grained control over which company-approved devices can be used.
Encrypted Storage Enforcement: Enhance data security by allowing access to storage devices only if they are encrypted, ensuring unauthorized or unencrypted drives are blocked.
Policy Targeting by User: Apply policies selectively to all user accounts or specific user accounts:
Conditional Access Based on Context: Configure dynamic access rules based on:
Day & Time
IP Address
Customizable User Messaging: Deliver a seamless user experience by configuring personalized messages that appear when a device is blocked, clearly informing end-users about policy restrictions.
