  • Scalefusion Windows MDM Agent: v16.2.0

  • Scalefusion Linux MDM Agent: v3.2.0

Release Notes:

  1. Windows

    1. Self-Service for Enterprise Apps & Scripts

IT Admins now have the flexibility to add Enterprise apps and scripts to the Self-Service catalog within the Scalefusion MDM agent app, rather than enforcing immediate or silent installations.

      1. Enterprise Apps: Apps added to the catalog will be visible to end users in the MDM agent app, allowing them to install or update the applications as needed.

      2. Scripts: Scripts can now be published to the catalog, giving users the option to execute them on demand, while still respecting the configured run options set by the admin.

    2. Bug Fixes

We have resolved several issues to improve performance and reliability:

    1. Fixed an issue where the Enrollment Email was incorrectly displayed as N/A when a new user was assigned via the Dashboard.

    2. Resolved a problem where the MDM agent installation status was not accurately reflected on the Dashboard.

    3. Addressed a scenario where OS upgrades were marked as completed, even when they were not successfully applied.

    4. Fixed inconsistencies in Power ON/OFF status reporting for certain devices.

    5. Corrected issues with installing apps from the App Catalog when a device restarts during the installation or update process.

    6. Fixed a problem where the OneIdP Authenticator app did not appear on domain-joined devices in some cases.

  2. macOS & Linux

    1. Veltar Secure Web Gateway Support

Scalefusion’s Veltar Secure Web Gateway (SWG) is now available for macOS and Linux devices. SWG helps ensure a safe and controlled browsing experience for end users, giving IT Admins robust tools to define web access policies. Key Capabilities:

      1. Category-based Website Blocklist: Block access to websites based on pre-defined categories to protect users from unsafe or non-compliant content.

      2. Custom Blocklists & Allowlists: Create extended and fully customizable blocklists. Add specific domains or URLs to an allowlist to override any blocked entries.

      3. Support for Domain & IP-Based Rules: Allow or block access to specific domains and IP addresses.

      4. Cloud App Access Management: Restrict access to cloud services like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, allowing sign-in only via corporate email accounts.

      5. App Bypass List (macOS-Only): Certain applications may require direct internet access. You can now exclude specific apps from SWG filtering on macOS, ensuring smooth functionality.

    2. Branding Enhancements

IT Admins can now set policy banners using the RTFD format, in addition to the previously supported RTF and plain text formats — offering greater flexibility for formatting and branding.

  3. Generic OneIdP Enhancements

    1. Support for Sub-Domain Federation with Microsoft Entra (SAML)

Organizations using sub-domains with Microsoft Entra can now configure SAML-based SSO via OneIdP. Please note that sub-domain federation with Microsoft Entra has specific requirements and considerations:

      1. The sub-domain must be promoted as a primary domain and disassociated from the parent domain in Microsoft Entra before federation can be applied.

      2. Once disassociated, the sub-domain will no longer inherit SSO settings from the parent domain.

      3. Going forward, the sub-domain must be managed independently:

        1. If OneIdP is removed in the future, the sub-domain will not revert to using the parent domain’s SSO settings.

        2. Admins will need to manually configure a new SSO provider for the sub-domain if required.

    2. Bug Fixes

      1. SLO URL in Metadata File
The Single Logout (SLO) URL was previously missing from the OneIdP SAML metadata file. This has now been corrected and included in the latest version.

  4. New User Interface for User and Device Groups

We have redesigned the User and Device Groups interface to deliver a more modern, intuitive, and efficient experience for IT Admins. This update is part of our continued efforts to improve usability and streamline group management across the platform.
