Release Notes:

  1. Introducing CIS Level 1 Compliance for Apple Devices

Scalefusion Veltar now includes a Compliance module that allows IT administrators to easily monitor and enforce CIS (Center for Internet Security) Level 1 benchmarks on managed macOS, iOS, and iPadOS devices. Administrators can create Compliance Policy Groups and apply them to device profiles, ensuring that devices associated with those profiles and running macOS (Ventura and later) or iOS/iPadOS (iOS 16 and later) adhere to CIS Level 1 benchmarks. Key features include:

    1. Customizable Benchmarks: Override default policy benchmarks to align with specific organizational security needs.

    2. Audit Support: Download CIS Level 1 guidance for internal auditing purposes.

    3. Detailed Reporting:

      1. View and download device-level reports, including Compliance Status, Risk Status, and Compliance Percentage.

      2. View device-level status of passed, failed, and unscored rules.

    4. Compliance Overview Dashboard: See a summary of overall compliance status and risk summary based on compliance score, and initiate on-demand scans.

    5. Integrated Device Information: Access and download compliance information within Device Details as part of the Device Information report.

  2. I/O Device Access Control (DAC) for Linux Devices

Scalefusion has extended its I/O Device Access Control (DAC) capabilities to include more granular control over USB peripherals connected to Linux devices. This enhancement provides administrators with the ability to manage the following USB device categories:

    1. Keyboards, Mice, and Webcams

    2. USB Headphones

    3. Printers and Wi-Fi Adapters

Administrators can also view the USB devices connected to a Linux device within the Device Details section.

  3. Password-Protected Agent Uninstallation for Windows

We have expanded the password-protected agent uninstallation feature to cover all Scalefusion agent applications on Windows devices. Now, when administrators enable Password protect agent uninstallation in Utilities, this setting will apply to:

    1. ProSurf

    2. FileDock

    3. Remote Support

This enhancement ensures that end-users, regardless of their account type, cannot uninstall any Scalefusion agent application without entering the designated password. IT administrators can view the uninstall passwords for each agent within the Device Details section.
