View Files and Folders on Windows devices

Article Summary

The following PowerShell script helps the IT Admins to get the list of files and folders on their managed Windows devices.

  1. Create a file on your desktop, for example, list_of_files_folders.ps1 and open it in a text editor like notepad++

  2. Copy the contents below to the file or click here to download the file.

    1. Enter the path of the folder which you want the list of all files and/or folders in the script.

      Get-ChildItem -Path [Specify path]

      For example,

      Get-ChildItem -Path "C:\Users\Admin\Desktop"

      This command lists all the files and directories present in the “Desktop” folder.


  3. Follow our guide to upload & publish the PowerShell script using Scalefusion Dashboard.

    1. Please choose Execution Level as User while uploading the script.
