Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) is a specialized, minimal operating system designed to help troubleshoot and repair issues that may prevent normal Windows startup. It plays a crucial role in system recovery, allowing users to perform troubleshooting steps and restore their system to a functional state.
The following PowerShell script helps the IT Admins to enable or disable WinRE on managed Windows devices.
Create a file on your desktop, for example, enable_WinRE.ps1/ disable_WinRE. ps1 and open it in a text editor like notepad++
Copy the contents below to the file.
To enable or disable WinRE please change the script as below.
reagentc /enable
reagentc /disable
Follow our guide to upload & publish the PowerShell script using Scalefusion Dashboard.
Please note that to use the PowerShell scripts, the Scalefusion MDM Agent Application must be installed on the device(s). Please follow our guide to publish and install the Scalefusion MDM Agent Application.
